THE THREE PILLARS OF OUR VITICULTURE

Oliver Moragues - Grand House & Wineyard Since 1511

BIODIVERSITY

The 50 hectares of pine and holm oak forests provide the necessary biodiversity that a vineyard needs. Bats that control insects, nettle for our biodynamic preparations, or the humidifying effect of the forest are some examples.”

TERROIR

The location of the vineyards, on a hill in the plateau of ‘Pla de Mallorca’ at 265 meters above sea level and in the center of the island, provides us with a unique microclimate on the island, enhanced by the constant sea breezes known as ’embat’.

MAJORCAN VARIETIES

We grow Giró Rós, Moll, Gorgollassa, Callet and Manto negro, the island’s ncestral varieties, always seeking to make the most of their full potential: their finesse, originality, elegance and exceptional and unique aromas.

Understanding what the soil, climate and natural environment offer us in order to work a viticulture that takes advantage of this potential is fundamental to obtain the best possible expression of each variety.

A PRIVILEGED PLACE

Vines express themselves best under favorable conditions, but if the conditions are extraordinary, the result is miraculous. For this reason, we will always be grateful to those who decided to plant the first vines on this land.
